Anna's First Birthday!

Saturday was Anna's official First Birthday Party!  She had a wonderful day full of family and friends and fun!  She only napped about 25 minutes all day and that was just on the car ride to pick up her birthday balloons!  She was a pro at cake eating, present opening, and being the center of attention!  The pictures will definitely prove it!

Anna LOVED her birthday balloons!  The polka dotted one is still up today and she loves dragging it all over the house and saying baa!
Checking out the cake.
It smells delicious!
Family shot with the happy birthday girl!
Time for presents!
Most pieces of clothing that she received, she put around her neck as though she were trying to put them on!  She just wanted to make sure they looked good.

Great-Grandma helped her put on the new sweater!
A cute new kitty towel from Minnesota Grandma Jan.
A new Twins shirt (she "tried this on" too)
A new pool for summer!
What else is in here?!
A bus!

Anna received many wonderful gifts.  She got her first real sized baby doll who she immediately hugged and patted the baby's back.  She loves to give hugs!  She also got lots of adorable clothes and legos and puzzles and books!  She's a very loved little girl!

Anna and Daddy grilling some lunch!
Must eat lunch before you get your cake!  Shovel it in Anna!
She got a little fussy when we wouldn't give her the cake right away!
Then she realized we were all singing to her!
Diggin' in!
Gently at first!
She tried to pick off almost every frosting dot!
Now she's really going!
With friend Quarve.
The remains of the cake.
Time to play with the toys!  Practicing her beach pose!
Outside time with Aunt Amy and Cousin Will.
Smelling the pretty flowers.
Driving her car!
One tired girl at the end of the day!

Because Cousin Will was here we got out some of Anna's old baby toys, swing, Bumbo, etc...and she jumped right back into her swing!  She never liked it as a baby, but loves to sit and swing it in now.  She practices getting in and out and can even push herself because it's so low to the ground.

Anna's 1st birthday was awesome.  We can't believe she's one year old already.  It was so fun to celebrate with the people who love her and reminisce about the past year.  So many changes and we have really got ourselves an independent, fun loving, smart little girl.  She's going to keep us busy, even more so, over the next year!

Below we have more pictures of playing outside on Sunday with all her new toys!

Grandpa was blowing bubbles for Anna.

Trying the bubble mower outside.

Watching Great Grandma and Grandpa help mommy and daddy with their landscaping while blowing bubbles with Grandma.
Telling Great Grandpa how wonderful the new garage door looks (a birthday weekend project).

It was a very busy weekend, but with lots of help from Grandma and Grandpa F and Great-Grandma and Grandpa H we got a lot of things done!  We celebrated Anna's birthday of course, but we also got the new garage door put up, some landscaping things done, a new light installed in Anna's room and many other little projects.  We're so lucky to have them to help us with projects...even if it just means keeping track of Anna so we can get little things done!

What a wonderful weekend...
