Our past weekend started out with a little road trip. This was one of two scheduled Iowa road trips this summer...although I'm sure there will be more...these are wedding road trips...so they have been on the calendar for a while!
Before we headed out to our destination, Anna and I stopped at Target of course to pick up some last minute necessities before we picked up Brian from work.
Anna got some new shoes and was VERY excited about it!
Awesome Mom!
On our way we had to stop for a stretch break...and a snack. This is Anna's serious face.
And her pondering face...
And her eating face.
And her shoving more food in her mouth face. She ate practically the entire bag of grapes that I packed!
Feeding Daddy...
apparently it was a sour grape.
We made it to Manchester at a fairly decent time, and then Anna had some major energy. She was up until around 10:30 running and jumping on the bed. This continued the next day when we were getting ready for the wedding. Daddy was in the wedding, so he was already gone when the chaos started :)
She was so wound up. She kept flopping backwards on the bed into the pillows and wrapping herself up in the sheets. It was crazy, the pictures do not at all show her silliness.
It was an outdoor wedding, so we met up with Daddy while he was getting his pictures taken. He looked great in his tux!
Applying more sunscreen to our pale little girl...wonder where she gets that from!?
Family photo op...although Anna was very tired already at this point....2:00.
Checking out the place where Paul and Sam were going to get married. It was a beautiful outdoor shelter...we were thankful for the roof, it was hot when you were in the sun.
Daddy!
Another family shot!
Anna love, love, loved meeting her 3rd (?) cousins Caleb and Abby. They were the ring bearer and flower girl and she thought they were the coolest! (They are of course!)
Here Caleb is comparing their heights...hard telling who will be taller when they are all grown up!
Brian and his Great-Uncle Gerald.
Checking out Abby and her beautiful dress.
Yet, another family shot...with Anna not looking pleased.
Fixing the bows.
Getting her bowl filled with fish :)
Grandpa!
Grandma!
Family shot with Uncle Gerald.
The wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful setting for a wonderful couple.
What Anna did during the ceremony...picked up everything she could find off the ground...she even managed to eat a Goldfish cracker off the ground. At least she was quiet and didn't have any sound bites on their ceremony recording.
At the reception with Grandpa, Abby and Caleb.
Sitting in her big chair for dinner.
Daddy, I lost my shoe!
Fixing the shoe...
Smile Anna....
Then she decided that sticking her hand in the frosting would be way better than waiting for a bite on the fork...
YUM.
She was very energized after eating practically nothing but cake. She was jumping all over the place...literally.
I think this picture sums it up....she was going crazy and we were trying to keep her contained. :)
The three cuties!
Telling Caleb about everything...
He even had a response...they were too cute!
Anna made it all the way until 8:30...with only a 20 minute nap all day. She was exhausted. We put on her jammies and she added her sunglasses and we took her back to go to sleep. We hadn't even been in the car five minutes when she was asleep...we moved her from the car to the pack-n-play and she didn't make a peep until 7 AM. She was tired.
Overall the trip was a success. The road trip home was really good too...we picked up Aunt Kate to come stay with us for the week. She was great at entertaining Anna the entire ride home. Hopefully she'll be just as successful on Friday when we head back for wedding #2!

She is so cute! I love how her and Kallie have pretty much all the same clothes...you can tell their mommies love Target!
