Anna's First Christmas

And what a memorable first Christmas it was...

It all started at about 3:00 in the morning when mommy got up and was not feeling so great. Then it hit daddy at about 6:00 AM. We think we got a 24-hour flu bug and it struck hard on Christmas Day. Anna was a trooper through it all and still got to enjoy her presents and play all day, but mommy and daddy were not so exciting or fun. We did manage to capture a few pictures from the day.

Anna's pile of presents!
She got a cool big penguin and lots of food. She loved tasting (instantly putting everything in her mouth) each item she got.
She got two new cups for big girls.
She was disappointed it wasn't already full of juice!
Anna playing with her dodecahedron made by Jana, a co-worker of mommy's. Anna loves it!
Anna's 1st Christmas ornament. Very appropriate since she's a crawler and LOVES her nuk.
That was about it for pictures on Christmas Day. So today when we woke up and were feeling better we tried to get a few more of Anna playing and enjoying life. She's such a happy little girl. And yesterday was so well-behaved and a trooper for having two sick parents.
So for those of you who don't know, crawling leads instantly into pulling yourself up onto everything. So we not only have a crawler, we have a climber. She's very good and very fast. She loves to stand at the coffee table and try to grab anything within reach. We have pretty much baby proofed the living room so she's pretty free to roam....
Here's Anna at the coffee table this morning. Notice that she is in fact standing in a box...but that's not just any box, that's the manger that goes with our nativity scene. She felt the need to be more a part of the manger.
You can see poor Mary and Joseph are under the coffee table and Anna is standing in their shelter.
She was very excited about my new spatulas. I might have to share with her.
Standing like a big girl. Don't mind that she forgot to put on her pants this morning...
So big!
And last but not least, Anna got what she wanted for Christmas...her two front teeth! You can see them pretty well in this photo, through the drool.
It was a very memorable Christmas. Hopefully they will only get better from here on out! Anna was pretty excited about her presents and checking everything out. Next year will be even more fun. She'll be so much bigger and have even more teeth!
Next weekend we get to celebrate Christmas again with G & G F. Due to the crazy blizzarding weather, they were not able to make it up here as planned. It will be nice though, because we'll be feeling much better and will have a good time watching Anna get excited about Christmas again.
Hope everyone else had a very Merry Christmas!
