Friday night I picked Anna up from daycare. She had a large bag of goodies to take home from all of her friends and a big present from Miss Sandra as well. Santa visited daycare in the early afternoon and gave her reindeer antlers. Sandra said she got a great picture of Anna with Santa, so we're anxious to see! She said she didn't let Anna see Santa, plopped her on his lap, called her name, and snapped a great picture of Anna enjoying Santa. We'll see what she really thinks of him later this week; we're planning to make a trip to his workshop at the mall.
Below you can see pictures of Anna with her antlers on enjoying her goodies and her big present from Sandra. She is a very lucky little girl.

Anne also gave us an AMAZING scrapbook she put together of Anna's first 6 months of life. It was a huge surprise and beautiful. She basically took what we have here in the blog, printed it out and hand made a beautiful scrapbook. It's exactly what I have wanted to do, but have never had the time, patience or skill to do. I love it and have already looked through it about 10 times...and we were gone most of the weekend! Big shout-out THANK YOU to Anne! You rock.
Saturday morning the three of us piled in the car and headed to Iowa for Christmas with G & G Scarlett and Uncle James and Aunt Kate. We had a great weekend (pictures to come--as I forgot my camera :( ). We got to see Kate play in a basketball game and reminisce about the days when we played high school basketball. Anna had a great time at the game; she even cheered loudly when they did things right. She was very opinionated :) She got cuddles from many people who were excited to see her or meet her for the first time. As always, she was the star of the show. We enjoyed a nice evening at G & G's house and opened Christmas presents. Anna was more interested in the wrapping paper than the presents, but she still had fun. She got lots of cute outfits and plenty of attention! She practiced walking with Uncle James and was much less shy with everyone this time. It was a very relaxing weekend.
We had to head back north today and are gearing up for another busy week. Tomorrow Anna and Mommy are going out for dinner with the girls from school. Then Tuesday is the last day of school until January 4 and hopefully Wednesday we can get our shopping done and everything ready for our first official family Christmas on Friday. We are going to Christmas Eve service after Brian gets home from work on Thursday and we are anxious to start our new family traditions. G & G Fiscus are coming on Friday and we will celebrate Christmas with them too.
Throughout our busy schedule, Anna has been a trooper. She's so flexible and adaptable as we change her sleep schedule, feeding schedule, etc. She just goes with the flow and loves to see new people, places, and thing. We are so lucky to have such an easy-going, happy-go-lucky, beautiful little girl. As we have begun our Christmas celebrations, we keep thinking about how blessed we are to have such a wonderful little girl to celebrate this year.
